Currently not available
Nanday Conures are vibrant, lively parrots native to South America, primarily found in countries like Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay. They are characterized by their striking green plumage and distinctive black head. They also have a subtle blue patch on the chest and rich blue accents on the wings and tails, and just for a special touch, they have distinctive red anklets, all of which give them a striking appearance. Nanday Conures are social and intelligent birds, often forming strong bonds with their owners when kept as pets, and they thrive on interaction and mental stimulation. They are known for their playful nature, loud calls, and ability to mimic some sounds, making them engaging companions. In the wild, they typically inhabit forests, savannas, and agricultural areas, where they forage for nuts, seeds, and fruits.
As with all pet parrots, they require ample space to allow for exercise, play and physical activity in addition to social interaction to thrive. A diet relying mainly on seed mixes is too high in fat in addition to being deficient in vitamins A and D and calcium which will lead to health problems. Appropriate diets for pet parrots may include pellets, sprouts, a variety of fresh produce, and a small amount of seed. .
