Livingston's Turaco

Currently not available

Livingston's Turacos are native to tropical eastern Africa, from Tanzania to South Africa where it is still common within its range. Like most turacos, they possess iridescent plumage, red wing patches visible in flight, and a crest on their head. The crest of the Livingston’s is among the tallest of turaco crests. Livingston's Turacos inhabit forested areas and woodlands, where they feed mainly on fruit, berries, and green foliage. Turacos are extremely active and agile birds that must be provided with ample space to accommodate their busy personalities. A large, planted aviary is best. Turacos can become quite tame accepting fruits such as grapes and blueberries from the hand and will eagerly await these treats at the front of the aviary once they are rewarded with them.
