Halfmoon Conure

Currently not available

The Halfmoon Conure is a vibrant and lively small parrot native to the Pacific coast of Mexico and Central America. They feature a bright green body with a distinctive orange forehead, blue crown and white or yellow naked eye rings around its eyes. These birds are popular as pets due to their playful and inquisitive nature, as well as their ability to mimic sounds and voices. Members of the genus, Aratinga, they do have powerful voices for such a tiny package. They require a stimulating environment, a balanced diet, and social interaction to thrive. Halfmoon conures are intelligent and affectionate, often forming strong bonds with their owners, and they thrive on mental engagement and activity. Their energetic personality makes them a charming addition to a bird-loving household.
As with all pet parrots, they require ample space to allow for exercise, play and physical activity in addition to social interaction to thrive. A diet relying mainly on seed mixes is too high in fat in addition to being deficient in vitamins A and D and calcium which will lead to health problems. Appropriate diets for pet parrots may include pellets, sprouts, a variety of fresh produce, and a small amount of seed.
