Gold-capped Conure

Currently not available

The Gold-capped Conure is small-medium sized lively bird species native to small ranges in northeastern Brazil. Recognizable by its bright green body and distinctive yellow or gold crown on its head, this conure is a popular pet due to its playful personality and striking appearance. They are social birds that thrive on interaction and enjoy both human companionship and the company of other birds. Gold-capped Conures are intelligent and curious, often learning tricks quickly. As members of the conure genus, Aratinga, they do have powerful voices and are best kept where their loud calls do not create a nuisance. As with any parrot, they require a balanced diet, mental stimulation, and plenty of socialization to stay healthy and happy. Their charming demeanor and colorful plumage make them a favorite among bird enthusiasts.
As with all pet parrots, they require ample space to allow for exercise, play and physical activity in addition to social interaction to thrive. A diet relying mainly on seed mixes is too high in fat in addition to being deficient in vitamins A and D and calcium which will lead to health problems. Appropriate diets for pet parrots may include pellets, sprouts, a variety of fresh produce, and a small amount of seed.
