Blue-fronted Amazon

The Blue-fronted Amazon, also known as the Turquoise-fronted Parrot by ornithologists, is a species of parrot native to a large area of South America where, like many parrots, they play an important role in its ecosystem by aiding in seed dispersal and maintaining the health of their habitats. This species features a distinctive blue patch on its forehead typically surrounded by variable amounts of yellow. As with all pet parrots, they require ample space to allow for exercise, play and physical activity in addition to social interaction to thrive. A diet relying mainly on seed mixes is too high in fat in addition to being deficient in vitamins A and D and calcium which will lead to health problems.
