Currently not available
Goffin's Cockatoo is a small, cockatoo native to Indonesia, specifically the island of Tanimbar. In the wild, they inhabit forested areas and feed mainly on seeds, nuts, and fruits. Like many island species, Goffin's Cockatoo is listed as endangered due to habitat loss, emphasizing the importance of conservation efforts to protect this beautiful species. Known for its small size and short crest, this species is highly intelligent and social, often forming strong bonds with its owners when kept as a pet. Among the most intelligent parrots, Goffin's Cockatoos are playful and curious, requiring mental stimulation and social interaction to thrive. Be sure to have a secure lock on their cage. Goffins are especially adept at solving puzzles making them one of the most extreme escape artists.
As with all pet parrots, they require ample space to allow for exercise, play and physical activity in addition to social interaction to thrive. A diet relying mainly on seed mixes is too high in fat in addition to being deficient in vitamins A and D and calcium which will lead to health problems. Appropriate diets for pet parrots may include pellets, sprouts, a variety of fresh produce, and a small amount of seed.
